Conflict & Change at Policy & Practice, UCL

100 years after the end of the First World War, we are witnessing major changes in the global political order. Rising and revisionist powers challenge Western hegemony while international institutions are undermined by resurgent nationalism. Meanwhile, in Western countries, the rise of these nationalist-populist forces goes hand in hand with a perceived vulnerability to outside threats, such as terrorism. Are we facing a new era of instability and war?

Members of the Conflict & Change group will be organising a Policy & Practice public panel. The Policy & Practice Seminar Series includes presentations of scholarly research and talks by high-profile policy makers, practitioners and academics. This panel brings together C&C experts to discuss the likelihood and patterns of political violence – and how we can confront it – in a new global order.
